SmartAlerts are a powerful feature and a great way for users to subscribe to content they love, as well as a unique mechanism for you to MicroTarget users either via our App Intelligence Dashboard or via our Management API.
However, when they don’t work for some reason, you don’t want to be left in the dark. So we’ve been working on ways to make the SmartAlerts system fail gracefully:
- Our API server now accepts p12 development certificates and ensures that the developer is using matching certificates on the device and also when uploading the p12.
- Our system will still send the SmartAlert batch even if there are bad tokens. It will display errors related to token issues, for instance if there are device tokens missing. Here is a screenshot:
