What happens when a well established media company wants to spur innovation?  In the case of Turner Broadcasting– the parent company to well known brands like CNN, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network and many others — the answer was to create MediaCamp, a 12 week accelerator program that provides innovative startups like Socialize an opportunity to share its technology and learn from the product teams within Turner.

We are thrilled to have been accepted to MediaCamp alongside five other San Francisco startups.  Here is the full press release.

Six technology startups selected to help shape the future of entertainment

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – June 7, 2012 – Turner Broadcasting today announced the companies selected for its Media Camp 12-week accelerator program this summer. The companies will benefit from one-on-one mentorship with digital, television and film executives, a comprehensive curriculum on media-specific topics and the opportunity to commercialize their business to Turner’s entertainment, news, sports and animation networks.

“Each Media Camp participant has compelling innovation to offer the media industry,” said Balaji Gopinath, VP of Emerging Technology for Turner Broadcasting. “Media Camp will help them lead the charge in making the next generation of social and interactive entertainment engaging and successful.”
